Who it is for:
These sessions are intended as an open space for exchange, reflection, collegial support and shared, phenomenological exploration among peer practitioners, whose clients present with issues relating to climate & biodiversity. You are encouraged to bring your case work live into the room. These sessions ae free of charge.
About:
The themes of climate & biodiversity are increasingly entering the therapy room through experiences of eco-anxiety, ecological grief, helplessness, fear of the future, and growing concerns about whether to have children.
These sessions offer a safe space for us to explore how we can best meet clients in these experiences. We aim to provide a container to explore how the practitioner’s own reactions. triggers, and embodied experiences may be influencing our client. We may also explore the wider field encompassing the practitioner (therapist), client, and our respective wider environmental factors may be influencing the therapeutic dynamic. We may experiment too.
Sometimes we will have a practitioner who has offered to bring a case study, and other times it will be an “open space” where participants create and manage the agenda themselves. We encourage you to step up and lead an exploration of an issue that is important to you.
In the event that we have a sizeable number of participants, we will aim to run multiple explorations in parallel. Attendees can self-select which explorations to join and can move freely between groups. We will all reconvene towards the end to share notes and insights.
Our hope is that practitioners will benefit from professional growth, emotional support, burnout prevention, noticing our blind spots, and potentially considering alternative interventions from the diversity of those participating.
