About EAGT

The European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT) is the professional body promoting the work of Gestalt Therapists and Gestalt organisational practitioners in Europe. We uphold the highest professional standards and support the advancement of gestalt therapy and gestalt OD practice via knowledge exchange and by encouraging research.

Founded in 1985, we currently have over 2000 individual members and 100 institutional members across 40 European countries. Any graduate of an EAGT accredited Training Institute can join EAGT as a full member.

EAGT is a member of the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) and as such we oversee professional standards for Gestalt Therapy in Europe via the devising of joint Training Standards and developing a code of Ethical practice.

We are founded on democratic principles with officers elected by and accountable to our members. Leaders of National Organisations for Gestalt Therapy (NOGTs) from the different European countries constitute our General Board.
