Climate Listening Circle

Who it is for:

The circle is free of charge and for anyone (aged 18+) interested in exploring their feelings and responses to climate change and biodiversity loss. It might be of particular interest to practitioners who work with clients or organisations that present with distress in relation to these themes.

About:

Climate break down and biodiversity loss are urgent yet often disavowed field phenomena of our time. The threat to our safety and well-being it entails can elicit powerful and complex feelings, such as fear, anxiety, anger, helplessness, sadness, grief or depression, that are often taboo to talk about. As Gestalt Practitioners we know, that with adequate support most people can sustain challenging feelings without either dissociating, numbing or going into blind panic. They can integrate difficult truths whilst staying grounded and in contact.

What it is for:

Climate listening circles provide a space for such support, a safe container to express difficult and conflicting emotions, so we can remain open and ‘response-able’ in the face of the world’s challenges.

It is about sharing and connecting in an environment that is friendly, respectful and confidential. Our focus is on participants feelings, thoughts and meaning making rather than action. There are no talks or guest speakers. We aim to not give advice or debate climate -policy, or -science. While our responses to the climate & ecological crisis are our main focus, there is also room to explore related themes – personal, social or political.

Facilitator: Nina Löchle
