Introduction to the Committee
The Training Standards Committee is responsible for keeping EAGT Training Standards up to date and for accrediting and re-accrediting training programmes for therapists and supervisors.
Our Aims
Via EAGT’s minimal Training Standards we aim to bridge the gap between supporting freedom and autonomy of practice on the one hand, and adjusting to the requirements of the healthcare market on the other. We have deliberately kept standards as minimal as possible in order to leave the maximum space for freedom and creativity.
We do this by:
- Periodically refreshing EAGT’s Training Standards so that they remain up to date.
- Accrediting and re-accrediting Training Institutes.
All training institutes who are members of EAGT are granted up to five years to bring their trainings up to our requirements. All EAGT members, as well individuals as organisations, must reapply for membership every five years.
