EAGT Ethics Committee at the 10th World Congress for Psychotherapy – Vienna, 2025

Dear colleagues, dear members of the EAGT community,

I am pleased to announce that the European Association for Gestalt Therapy, represented by its Ethics Committee, will participate in the upcoming 10th World Congress for Psychotherapy, to be held at Sigmund Freud University in Vienna, Austria, on July 16–19, 2025.

I am proud to share that the EAGT logo is officially featured on the Congress website as a World Council for Psychotherapy (WCP) partner, underscoring our association’s active and visible contribution to the global dialogue on psychotherapy. https://www.wcp2025.at/index-en.html

I, together with the members of the EAGT Ethics Committee are the speakers of the Congress. https://wcp2025.sched.com/directory/speakers

We will be conducting a workshop titled: “Ethics: How Can We Benefit from the Doubt? A Gestalt Therapeutic Exploration of Responsibility and Dialogue.” https://sched.co/1yhYN

Congress participants will have the opportunity to engage with Gestalt ethical principles through both experiential and reflective formats. The workshop will explore ethics not as a fixed code, but as a dynamic, relational, and ever-evolving practice within Gestalt therapy.

We warmly invite you to this event, either onsite or online (as it will be held in a hybrid format), and to join our workshop in this meaningful exploration—creating space for reflection, dialogue, and deeper connection around the evolving role of ethics in our professional practice.

The World Council for Psychotherapy (WCP), founded in 1995 and based in Vienna, is a global organization with consultative status at the United Nations. Its mission is to enhance global mental health by promoting professional standards and encouraging international collaboration. The WCP organizes the World Congress for Psychotherapy to bringing together professionals from around the world.

On behalf of the EAGT Ethics Committee,
Dr. Prof. Téa Gogotishvili
Chair of the EAGT Ethics Committee
